A visual diary or workbook that documents your research activities, experimentation with materials/processes and the development of your ideas [Learning Outcomes 1,2].
Finished ceramic artefacts [Learing Outcomes 2,3].
Module Indicative Content
This module introduces you to ceramic design as a creative medium and allows you to experience at a basic level, the design process
and some of the techniques used in the production of ceramic artefacts.

You will be taught how to use machinery safely in the workshops and after carrying out appropriate idea development work you will practise using basic forming techniques.

You will make simple moulds that will enable you to explore basic ceramic processes and produce some simple ceramic forms. An important element in the module is the final firing and glazing of your designed ceramic form.
