Module Indicative Content
The purpose of this module is to introduce you to the principles, materials and methods associated with your specific area of 3D design. The methodologies and practical skills related to the origination, development and production of three-dimensional design objects. These skills will be acquired through common prescribed project/s, which will address typical issues relating to 3D Design. You will select from appropriate workshop moduletts and undertake a project appropriate to your specialist 3D Design award. You will develop more in depth material skills applicable directly to your chosen area of study. The project/s will expose you to more sophisticated approaches to designing and making gained through; participating in technical training moduletts and demonstrations, exploring different design methods and processes including undertaking and utilising visual research, material experimentation and the production of maquettes, resulting in the production of a body of three dimensional work.

You will present for assessment a body of work as outlined in the module pack. This will include:
Design development workbook/s that documents both research and design development. [Learning Outcomes 1 & 3]
Technical notebook/s of processes acquired. [Learning Outcomes 2]
Material experimentation and maquettes. [Learning Outcomes 2 & 3]
A finished body of work. [Learning Outcomes 1,2 & 3]
Undertake a presentation of work to peers and tutors. [Learning Outcomes 3]
