Module Indicative Content
Following an introduction to the way in which companies and designers associated with ceramics and surface pattern compile concept boards, you will be required to collect, compile and co-ordinate relevant information on a particular theme in a considered and selective manner.
This will include library and internet research and include market research.
Design themes, moods and colour stories will be generated before developing your own concepts and original design ideas before moving into the ceramic workshops to explore the basic processes involved in the application of ceramic decoration to ceramics. This will include Health and Safety and a series of technical demonstrations which require attendance in order to fulfil the module outcomes.
You will finally pull all of your design ideas and technical awareness and skills together in the presentation and execution of a final collection of decorated ceramic artefacts.
