Module Indicative Content
The aim of this module is to encourage you to explore a creative direction, which will be an individually negotiated approach to your studio practice, clearly defining personal outcomes and objectives within the parameters of a designer/maker.
You will be encouraged to approach and develop your work reflectively, understanding the relevance and importance of critical and theoretical analysis as part of the creative process. Developing a body work, which is underpinned by a comprehensive knowledge of design theories and practices within contemporary a design context. You will be required to produce a written piece of work examining interconnections between design theories and relevant practices both historical which interest you and have influenced your personal work.
You will be encouraged to evaluate your own practice reflectively and critically in relation to other contemporary makers. This module is designed to underpin and inform your independent creative strategies and innovative design practice within a contemporary context.
The body of work produced for this module will be exhibited at a public venue; you are expected to create a finished outcome, appropriate to a contemporary and social context.
