Professional presentation of work to peers and tutors [Learning Outcomes 1,2,4].



Module Indicative Content
This module aims to introduce you to the practice of working to commission, in relation to private commercial and public institutional, site specific briefs. It is designed to equip you with a knowledge of the professional working practices involved. Contents include technical skills including model-making and material manipulation; research skills including site analysis carried out on external visits. You will also be introduced to the costing, business and legal aspects of operating in an entrepreneurial context. You will carry out market research and investigate market trends in the applied arts/3D Design.
Module Learning Strategies
Technical skills modulettes, as appropriate.
Lectures through which you will be introduced to the project briefs, issues, ideas, concepts and project working methods .
Group critiques, where you will engage with peers to receive and provide constructive criticism.
Research - academic staff will guide you towards appropriate and effective areas of study for your particular response to the briefs.
Site visits.
