Module Indicative Content
This module will introduce you to design methodologies and processes applicable to making contemporary jewellery and fashion accessories. You will gain knowledge relating to both historic and contemporary jewellery practice, across a variety of genres and media and will use this knowledge to inform your practice. You will be exposed to designing and making processes relevant to the manufacture of body adornment, this will include processes applicable to one off, batch and industrial production, methods of designing and making such as the use of CAD and laser cutting. You will be encouraged to reflect on and develop your own personal standpoint in relation to jewellery in terms of, style, function, audience, content and media resulting in the production a body of three-dimensional work. This module is not material specific and will encourage you to consider working in one material or exploring the innovative potential of working across media.
