Module Indicative Content
This module will introduce you to the skills and activities employed throughout the creative industries. You will experience a range of approaches to problem solving, idea generation and visual communication and teamworking.
You will also investigate the link between the creative process and market knowledge and research in formulating design solutions.
You will reflect on your learning and the contribution of your peers in team situations.
You will evaluate your own progress and development. This module will also include an introduction to PDP (personal development planning) encompassing a self-evaluation SWOT analysis of your skills development. Your PDP will continue throughout your course, being discussed and updated at each level and also through tutorials with your personal tutor.
Supporting this module will be a range of technical Instruction (TI) led exercises and modulettes, providing you with the skills to work competently and safely using the equipment and tools in the 3D and computer workshops
Module Learning Strategies
In a series of workshops you will begin to identify and develop skills in the communication of ideas and the planning and execution of design projects.
Work on a variety of activities as part of a team
Work independently, in the studio, workshop, other areas of the University
Take part in critiques and present your ideas to staff and other students
