Module Indicative Content
Topics will be drawn from
- The systems of accounts and financial statements system
- The relationship between a financial system or function and other systems or functions in an organisation
- Financial information, Financial accounts and financial statements
- Constructing a budget for an area of management responsibility
- Budgetary control systems and compare actual with planned expenditure
- The monitoring and control of finance employed in support of organisational activities
Module Learning Strategies
The learning strategy for the module requires students to commit 150 learning hours, of this there will be 38 hours of class support and 112 hours of independent and self directed study.
Lectures, Seminars/tutorials.
Team work within workshops and tutor teams
Research based tasks, e.g. information searches, surveys etc.
Independent study using learning materials
Personal Development Planning
Peer contact, discussion and/or study teams.
For each topic, students will engage in preparation and reading prior to each seminar. Students will be asked to share their reading of the topic through discussion with their peer group, present their findings to the seminar group and provide feedback to other students
Module Additional Assessment Details
Details -
A case study and its report of 1500 words report on business simulation weighted at 100%.
Case study on business simulation (Learning outcomes 1, 2,3, 4)
To pass this module student must obtain 40% marks.
