Module Details
Module Learning Strategies
At the beginning of the module you will attend two, two hour sessions during the PLA Annual conference.

However, the majority of your learning will take place through the University's virtual learning environment, Blackboard. This will be augmented by work place experiential learning.

During the face to face sessions and your online, and independent, learning you will engage in a variety of theoretical and practical learning experiences which could include the following;

¿ Group workshops
¿ Case study analysis
¿ Formative assessments
¿ Directed research
¿ Work place activities
¿ Personal reflection

As this module relates to your own professional development you will be required to engage in the related learning activities and reflections over a 10 month period.


Module Indicative Content
This module introduces the essential rationale and methods for you to become effective Personal Learning Advisors through your own professional development.
You will be introduced to topics such as;

- Continuing Professional Development
- Personal Development Planning
- The learning cycle
- Reflective learning
- Lifelong learning
