Module Learning Strategies
The learning strategy for the module requires students to commit 150 learning hours (including assessment) of this there will be 30 hours of class support and 120 hours of independent and self directed study. Support will also be given by access to Scheduled Tutor Office Hours to support the module.
The lecture/tutorial pattern may vary with some activities taking place in medium size group workshops.

Module Indicative Content
An introduction to management information systems and the provision of accounting information for internal and external purposes.
This module provides an overview of the three integrated systems: nominal, sales and purchase ledger. It explores key decisions prior to set-up including coding structure and layout of the Profit and Loss Account and Balance Sheet using Sage Accounting software.
You will learn how to create customers and supplier records and to record and produce invoices. The operation of the fixed asset register, bank reconciliation, credit control and the production of management reports and key performance indicators will also be included.
