ASSESSMENT DETAILS
An individual research dissertation of 12,000 words
INDICATIVE CONTENT
The module facilitates the exploration and critical review of a substantial individual research enquiry within the field of Islamic Finance. It demonstrates individual knowledge, skills and competency development - offering experience of producing a competent research based piece of work.
Note: The topic is subject to the approval of the dissertation tutor.

1. TO COMPETENTLY AND SYSTEMATICALLY DEMONSTRATE KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING, AND CRITICAL APPRAISAL, OF APPROPRIATE METHODOLOGIES AND TECHNIQUES APPLIED TO A PARTICULAR FOCUS OF ISLAMIC FINANCE RESEARCH (KNOWLEDGE & UNDERSTANDING, LEARNING)

2. TO DEMONSTRATE KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING IN A CHOSEN AREA OF ISLAMIC FINANCE RESEARCH (APPLICATION, ENQUIRY, KNOWLEDGE & UNDERSTANDING, INTEGRATION, REFLECTION)

LEARNING STRATEGIES
The majority of the module is conducted by independent learning and supported by an assigned supervisor, who will convene at mutually agreed intervals. Communication between both parties can be, if agreeable, through face-to-face, e-mail and telephone. There is a maximum of 9 hours supervision/contact with assigned supervisor.
