INDICATIVE CONTENT
This module will start with an introduction to the subject which will cover topics such as financial statement analysis, ratio analysis, analysis of past performance as well as forecasting. It will also focus on key management accounting techniques that help to determine strategic action and the financial ratios and measures that may be used to assess and analyse the financial position of firms and to forecast future financials.
Bloomberg Terminal will be used for a range of analyses employed in this module. ‘Bloomberg for Education’ data bases and platforms will be used to bring the pace and excitement of real business into the classroom. Students gain hands-on experience using the same information and technology used by financial professionals all over the world, to help gain an edge in the competitive job market.

Learning Strategies
The learning strategy for this module is based around students committing a total of 150 hours of activities towards achieving the learning outcomes. These will be split between 39 hours of direct contact with a tutor and 111 hours of directed, guided and self-study, together with preparation for and completion of the assessment tasks. Learning support material will be provided for the module.
The module will draw upon a mixture of activities including lectures, web-based activities, case study analysis, relevant videos and in-class discussions, individual and group problem solving and self-directed learning.
