Module Indicative Content
This module is intended to give you some idea of what life is like as a student of art and design at university. You will be introduced to the module at school, where the project themes, workshop days and arrangements for assessment will be explained to you. It is expected that you will then begin work on the research and generation of ideas in your workbooks. We expect to see evidence of reading and of looking at, and thinking about, the work of established artists and designers. We would look for evidence of the influence of that research work in your own drawings, sketches and/or photographs, as you plan your approach to the workshop days. You will attend university on a number of separate days, each of which will be spent in one of the art and design workshop areas, and on these days you will be supported in the production of finished designs or objects. Finally, your work will be presented for assessment at the school, and you will take part in a group critique, where students will be able to give each other feedback on their work.
