Module Indicative Content
This module concentrates on the practical exploration of composition, communicating through pictures, visual metaphors, and cultural aspects of image making for design. Traditional and new media are supplemented with 3D and making to develop an understanding of visual perception and aesthetic appreciation. Drawing is a basic discipline for any student in the field of design, in this core module, you will experience traditional exercises such as studio based `life drawing' to improve your observational skills, you will also be encouraged to use 3D and digital workshops to develop a broad range of individual and less conventional methods, using appropriate media in response to a variety of diverse visual problems, excercises and short projects. As well as these tasks you will attend modulettes(technical instruction sessions) and provide evidence of these in your sketchbooks as part of your creative development. Students should also demonstrate the use of modulettes throughout their work. Students should note these modulettes may change on an annual basis.
