Module Details
Module Indicative Content
You will have the opportunity to use a variety of animation equipment and techniques to push the boundaries and concepts of traditional animation.
There will be a number of specific demonstrations to aid this module such as roto-scoping, paint on glass, blue screening, time-lapse as animation which may become integral to a screen based outcome. The main focus of the piece will be a non linear animated sequence which attempts to redefine narrative and script concepts of believability time and movement. The sequence will have a dialogue or soundtrack accompaniment
This module is designed to enable students to embark on further study of the art form of animation and to explore the process
and production methods available. You will sample a range of non mainstream animations and their place within a commercial context.
Module Additional Assessment Details
Portfolio evidence of technical and creative response to a design brief which demonstrates experimention in animation production including composite and time-base elements.(learning)
Produce a set of storyboard visuals exploring the techniques involved in production A2 X 3 boards
Show a clear planning stage from research through to design and story boarding to final film sequence in a short report
Show all the visual influences which affected the work and to which audience the work is intended to be appreciated by.
Define your animation in an appropriate commercial setting.
