Module Details
Module Learning Strategies
Technical instruction and workshop demonstrations on how to handle equipment, processes and materials safely and effectively.
Health & Safety.
Lectures to the whole group where you will be introduced to the preparation, planning and structure of scriptwriting and audio production projects.
Small group sessions (seminars, crits, tutorials) where you will contribute to the discussions, engage in debate about issues raised, present the results of your research and your work in progress and receive constructive feedback from your peers when appropriate and from your tutor.
Independent Study in support of your project work. You will need to undertake a number of activities when not involved in taught or participation sessions. These will include researching and documenting your practical project; pre and post production work for your project; the execution of your production and the preparation of your work for assessment.

Module Indicative Content
This module is the culmination of your award and thus should demonstrate professional practice as a lead animator taking the role of project director in the production of a substantial piece of animation.

You will collaborate in a team of other level 3 animators leading a team of level 2 assistants in an animated short film.
You will liaise with the team at all stages of the production via a series scheduled and recorded meetings. It is essential that you take executive decisions where appropriate to ensure that the project is achieved by the conclusion of the semester.

Production tasks will be shared to ensure that each member of the team is designated a role supporting their strengths.
Where appropriate liaison with scriptwriters, sound production artists and voice talent maybe outsourced to enhance the professional standard. A complete reflective report must support all activities during the project.

The work should be of a standard to be screened at international events allowing for expose to the wider animation community and potential employers.

[a] Show detailed and clear evidence of how the planning stage of moved and fed into the production ( Learning outcomes 2,6)
[a] Show evidence of a clear awareness and research into potential audience ( Learning outcome 5)
[b] Show a thorough breakdown of all aspects of the design process in a portfolio of preparatory and developed drawings ( Learning outcomes 1,2,5)
[c] Show how your ideas was realised in production ( Learning outcomes 3,6)
[d] Be able to demonstrate the ability to evaluate and change aspects of the production at periodic intervals and edits. ( Learning outcomes 1,4)
[e] Show all correspondence from initial contact through to final delivered outcome of all negotiation and film assistance ( Learning outcomes 2,6)
[f] The finished work will be presented for during your final Degree Show ( Learning Outcomes 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6)
