Indicative Content
This 60 credit module provides the scope to negotiate a minimum of two projects which will form the basis of your final major project work including a signature project.
At least one of the projects must be conducted with an external client. As such the work may be carried out on the clients premises or where appropriate and with full commercial software license at the University.
The other project should be your main Direction project which will be negotiated with level 6 peers and Level 5 assistants.
You will write proposals for your both projects which clearly outline the proportion of time wish to spend on each. You can have an equal split or a proportional split depending on which proposal requires more hours spent in meeting all of the learning outcomes which you will be assessed against.
The smaller project should be no shorter than 150 hours (25%) of the entire module timeframe.

The module aim is to engender independence and professionalism in project initiation, development and realisation in preparation for leaving the University and entering the marketplace .
It is expected that as a Final semester level 6 student you will fully self-manage your time schedule in the realisation of the module outcomes. You may produce a short film as one possible outcome so long as you do this as a team alongside and in collaboration other Level 6 students. You may conduct the external project individually or in a team sharing duties and responsibilities. As such you will need to create a detailed ongoing blog in order to identify your own personal contribution throughout the duration of the project.
You will produce a selective written report drawn from sources and entries in your blog for your final assessment in order to disseminate the critical aspects of your application and contribution.
All work done for your directed project should be uploaded on Vimeo for viewing by the assessment team and external examiners.

The main emphasis of this project is your direction and collaboration with others on a substantial Animation Project to the highest of professional standards. As such it is expected that you will have visited conferences studios and festivals to measure the quality of animation content aginst your own performance This module is the culmination of your award and thus should demonstrate
professional practice as a lead animator
.
It is essential you take executive decisions where appropriate to ensure that the project is achieved by the conclusion of the semester. Production tasks will be shared to ensure that each member of the team is designated a role supporting their strengths. Where appropriate liaison with others scriptwriters, sound production artists and voice talent maybe outsourced to enhance the professional standard.
The finished work should be of a standard to be screened at international events allowing
exposure to the wider animation community and potential employers.Students should therefore be fully conversant with copyright law and licensing of software and sound resources so that their productions meet the requirements for public screening and self promotion.
