Module Indicative Content
The pressure on habitats from agricultural and forestry practices and urban development will be examined. The implications of giving a habitat a protected status will be explored and this will related to changes in central government and European policy. Techniques of Habitat Management will be identified and evaluated and the potential impact of these on the habitats discussed. Habitat creation and translocation will be investigated as tools for maintaining habitat variety.
Module Learning Strategies
Lectures supported by tutorials and field trips 20hrs. Assignment to develop self-learning skills 130hrs. Assignments take the form of a brief, broken down into tasks. These tasks are researched and the information presented in the form of a report.
