Module Learning Strategies
Lectures supported by tutorials and a field trip 20hrs. Assignment to develop self-learning skills 130hrs. Assignments take the form of a brief, broken down into tasks. These tasks are researched and the information presented in the form of an essay.
Module Indicative Content
The development of the British countryside will be examined from the last ice age to the present day. The impacts of human occupation from the viewpoints of habitat exploration and patterns of habitation will be investigated. The shaping of the modern landscape as a result of land ownership models and farming practices will be discussed. The balance between a historic landscape and a dynamic population will be debated.
