Indicative Content
This module further develops the themes and learning previously gained in module such as Professional Practice for Biomedical Scientists and Concepts and Practice. This PPP module provides further learning opportunities, including reflection on work-based/ work-related experiences that enable you to acquire the skills and qualities that will enhance your career prospects, horizons and personal success, thus preparing you for the expectations of the Healthcare Science environment in public or private sectors. In addition to demonstrating the module learning outcomes, you will:
1. Meet online different people such as members of the Creative Communities Group and employability consultants who will guide you in terms of professional and personal development.
2. Have the opportunity to reflect upon your work placement/ work based learning in a meaningful and constructive way.
The module is designed to make you increasingly aware of your personal and professional development – your development of new identities in your journey of becoming a Healthcare scientist. You will work closely with your Level 6 project supervisor during this module. There are a series of online tutorials, the purpose of which is to support you in the development of your project plan.
Core to the design of this module is the desire to enable you to further acquire, develop and refine many of the attributes expected of a graduate level healthcare scientific practitioner. Whilst all modules at level 5 support you in your learning journey towards becoming a graduate scientist, this module is used to help focus your development and in certain areas provide demonstrable outcomes of achieving appropriate graduate standards.
As a Healthcare Science student, you are already undertaking placement work and this module enables you to reflect upon that experience, to gain the most out of it.
