MODULE LEARNING OUTCOMES
1. Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the ethical challenges facing contemporary business.

2. Demonstrate knowledge and understanding and critically appraise different theoretical approaches to ethics.

3. Critically appraise and analyse the approaches to ethics by variety of organisations.

4. Reflect on the importance of ethics for organisations.

Assessment 1 – Learning Outcomes 1, 2, 3 and 4

The written assignment will be 2500 words long report discussing contemporary issues in relation to business ethics.
MODULE INDICATIVE CONTENT
In this module, we will cover the variety of topics in relation to ethics and especially business ethics, such as: normative ethics, ecological values, economic values, social values, corporate social responsibility, the importance of globalisation in the context of business ethics and the relevance of different stakeholders for ensuring that organisations are ethical.
WEB DESCRIPTOR
There is an ever-increasing need for organisations to act ethically. Using contemporary case studies and innovative teaching methods, The Business of Doing Good module will explore different stances in relation to ethics, the process of ethical decision making, and analyse and critically appraise multitude of decisions made by different organisations and the appropriateness of their response when faced with ethical challenges.
MODULE LEARNING STRATEGIES
Students are expected to commit a total of 200 hours towards achieving the learning outcomes. Out of those 200 hours, 48 hours will be in direct contact with a tutor and 152 hours will be directed, guided and self-study. All the materials – including learning materials and independent learning materials – will be provided.

A mixture of activities including lectures, relevant videos and in-class discussions, individual and group problem-solving and self-directed learning will be utilised in this module.
