Indicative Content
Students are expected to plan for and participate in Work Based Learning (WBL) during their second year of study through a work placement of a minimum of 50 hours work to be completed by the end of Semester 2 of Level 5.
Students will work with their academic placement mentor to plan for the placement using a Placement Planning Document (PPD) which will support discussions around choice of placement, industry knowledge, specific role information, and employability behaviours. The PPD will be completed before the placement commences and will provide the framework for individualised learning and employability outcomes. Students will be supported throughout the process by their mentor and will be provided with an induction and ongoing support.
Students will be expected to complete an online Reflective Learning Log to provide evidence of skills and competences outlined in the PPD.
Learning Strategies
Learning will be evidenced against the module learning outcomes and the Placement Planning Document and be tailored to the student and the course.
