MODULE LEARNING OUTCOMES
1. Compare and contrast a range of sustainability models.

2. Demonstrate an understanding of the value of a sustainability model in adopting a responsible management strategy.

3. Discuss the possible influences on the level of corporate social responsibility (CSR) commitment of a medium-sized company.
MODULE ADDITIONAL ASSESSMENT DETAILS
Within an organisation, applying the Triple Bottom Line can be applied to assist in ensuring the business, employees and community are considered while assisting in a business being successful.

Your group (Maximum of 4 per group) will be presented with a case study from an organisation whereby you will be required to create a presentation (for in-class delivery) to show the analysis of sustainability models, theory and frameworks to include a discussion on Corporate Social Responsibility.
MODULE INDICATIVE CONTENT
In this module, you will develop your understanding of sustainable management practices in the workplace and in the wider context of organisations. A common model of sustainability is made up of a triad of; economic, social and environment and sustainability.

In this module you will examine that three simultaneous goals must be achieved: economic profitability, social responsibility and environmental conservation, known as the Triple-Bottom line. You will explore a range of sustainability models alongside the topic of corporate social responsibility (CSR). CSR can be simply and broadly defined as the ethical role of the corporation in society. You will investigate such themes as corporate philanthropy and social entrepreneurship.

MODULE LEARNING STRATEGIES
The module comprises a combination of lectures, seminars, and networking events together with student led assessed tutorials, and web-based review sessions. Tutorials will require you to study collaboratively and apply the contents of particular lectures and seminars to case studies, application exercises and role play in a variety of contexts.

You will undertake ‘formative’ assessments during the module to help you monitor your learning and provide you and us with ongoing feedback on your progress, that helps you prepare for the ‘summative’ assessment(s) during or at the end of the module.
