INDICATIVE CONTENT
This is an opportunity for you to focus on the key skills needed to successfully study and to develop academically, personally and professionally. This module focuses on the practical and academic skills needed for success, developing research skills through a range of lectures, seminars and immersive experiences.
These skills will then be applied to your own case study which will focus on employability in your chosen study pathway. You will be articulating learning clearly and concisely with full Harvard referencing. This will enable you to identify opportunities for growth and development of practical and academic skills throughout the course by engaging in real world examples.
You will be encouraged to attend a range of events and to reflect on what they have gained from your experiences. These will be evidence in the creation of creative product, such as character sketches, soundscapes and photojournalistic pieces.

Individual log of experiences relevant to study area [LO 1,4]
You will engage in several experiences throughout the course and will document these in a individual log that reflects on the cultural and social validity and relevance to your study. Throughout the year you will have access to a range of activities as part of the college campus as well as those offered through the university and further enrichments events that you can attend.
Case study on a role, or area, of the media industry. [ LO 2,3]
You will study case studies that focus on a range of creative industries and will compile your own focused study of a role/career that examines the skills, responsibilities, entry requirements and progression in the production of your own case study.

Have you ever wondered where a degree can take you? This module will help you to focus on the skills you need to be successful in your future career. It may even open your eyes to careers that you never knew existed. You will conduct research on an area of the media, focusing on the skills and experiences needed to be successful in that environment. Throughout your time on this module, identifying any skills that you could develop or improve will be a vital part of your employability focus.
You will also be expected to attend a range of immersive events, such as visiting art galleries and attending theatre or film performances. These events will give you a greater insight into how roles in the media come together to create exciting and engaging live events. You will then reflect on these experiences and develop a case study on a role in the media sector.
