Module Details
INDICATIVE CONTENT
This module will equip you with the knowledge, skills and understanding to plan, manage and execute a fully realised project. You will be given creative freedom to explore an area of interest to them and will work closely with your project supervisor to progress through the idea's generation, planning and execution stages.


You will develop the skills to plan the technical, practical and creative elements of a brief and apply technical and creative skills in its completion. You will be introduced to a range of documentation that will evidence how you have planned and managed their project effectively reflecting industry standards.


You will understand the relationship between primary and secondary research and how this informs the development of creative ideas.


You will explore a range of case studies of professional practice from different industries to inform your own work. During the practical stage of the project, you will demonstrate technical and creative skills developed through previous modules to communicate meanings, target audiences and reflect professional conventions and outcomes


Successful completion of this module will demonstrate a clear and effective approach to planning, technical execution and reflections on your creative practice.
ADDITIONAL ASSESSMENT DETAILS
The assessed components to this module are:



Project development file and response to the brief [LO1]

In response to a set brief, you will create a rationale comprising of your initial ideas, key pre-production documentation, primary and secondary research and a plan for the production process. It is important to reflect on your decision-making processes and how this fulfils the set requirements of the brief.

Demonstrate knowledge and understanding through a written response to a set brief. This will include an audience and how you propose to target them, explain the techniques you will use to construct your final project outcome including appropriate format, media language and mode of address, identify the resources you will utilise in your final project outcome.



Project reflection [LO4]

Upon completion of your outcomes, you will reflect on the approaches you have taken and how these have contributed to your finished product. You will evaluate the strengths and weaknesses of your finished product in line with target audience and the codes and conventions that it achieves.





Final project outcome [LO 2,3]

Apply and consolidate the knowledge, skills and experience in the production of a fully realised response to a set brief and demonstrate a range of technical and creative skills in the production of a fully realised media product.

WEB DESCRIPTOR
This module is the culmination of your foundation year course and serves to demonstrate the skills, creativity and technical execution that you have developed throughout the year.



Here you will work closely with your tutor and other group members to negotiate a project which you will develop and execute for your final assessment.



You will demonstrate project management skills through the development of your ideas, planning and the management of resources and timelines. Throughout this module you will be working towards the completion of a fully realised media artefact that reflects industry conventions and appeals to a specific audience. Here you will use the technical, practical and creative skills developed throughout the entire course.



Upon completion of your final outcome, you will incorporate feedback from peers, your teacher and audiences to fully reflect on your finished product as well as the processes and skills demonstrated through its completion.
