Module Additional Assessment Details
Students must submit work for both assessments
Assessment One: A portfolio of information relating to legislation and industry guidelines, with a commentary (approx 1,000 words) describing
its impact on the sector (50%) [Learning Outcome 1]
Assessment Two: A case study of the process of organising an event or activity, showing a range of communication methods utilised, to be presented in a format reflecting the nature of the event or activity (50%) [Learning Outomes 2 and 3]
Module Indicative Content
This module offers students the opportunity to consolidate learning from other modules and relate it to practical work and the constraints associated with employment. Legal and ethical issues will be investigated, as well as working to timescales, with recognition for team and individual responsibilities. Understanding the value of successful communication using a range of techniques will also form part of the content of the module.
Participation in the planning of an event or activity will help students understand the responsibilities associated with the creative workplace.
Current legislation and expected changes will be studied, such as:
Health and Safety, Criminal Records Clearance, Working with Children & Vulnerable People, Copyright,
Data Protection, Permissions, Equal Opportunities, Public Liability, Intellectual Propety Rights.
Frameworks relating to the specialism will also be included, such as:

Legislation and the workplace: 10 hrs

Planning strategies and processes: 10 hrs
Seminars considering constraints and the working environment: 5 hrs

Group critiques and presentations: 8 hrs
Individual tutorials: 1 hr
