Module Indicative Content
This module builds on skills developed in Introduction to Specialist Pathway (Advanced Design, Cut and Manufacture)to enable students to deepen their experience and understanding of the application of skills in a professional context. They will be expected to gain a substantial part of the evidence for assessment from work-based projects, using and building on skills developed in other Level 1 modules such as Visual Studies and Fundamental Skills for Fashion Industries.
Using the knowledge, skills and understanding developed in the Introduction to Specialist Pathway (Design, Cut and Manufacture) students will use their knowledge to address identified need(s) in the working environment. This may be part of a larger programme of work being undertaken in the workplace, or experience associated with working freelance or in an entrepreneurial role.
Students should be increasingly working independently, and may be identifying and/or initiating projects in order to meet the outcomes of the module: such a project should be planned in consultation with the student's tutor and mentor.
