Module Additional Assessment Details
A performance ranging from 5- 10 minutes (relative to the average length of a Musical Theatre ensemble / dance piece) that is the culmination of a continuous assessment of your individual input into your dance rehearsals, and your ability to faithfully reproduce in a workshop setting, the characteristic styling of a recognised choreographer within the Musical Theatre industry. This also includes your working relationships when working in choreographic pair or ensemble work, and your ability to reflect and critically evaluate your role within the dance piece. (LO 1 - 4. 100%)
Module Learning Strategies
14 x 3 hour sessions

All aspects of the module will be facilitated through lectures, presentations, tutorials, group discussion, problem solving exercises.
Module Indicative Content
In this module, you will identify in consultation with lecturers, a recognised choreographer within the Musical Theatre industry and produce, through workshop rehearsal, a piece of choreography that communicates to an audience, the style of that choreographer.

Alongside this, you will take into account your own technical ability and develop a strong appreciation of acting through dance, conveying emotion that relates to the chosen piece of music through demonstration of expression in body and face; the ability to 'sell it' as a performer.

Weekly workshops will allow you to receive feedback from peers and lecturers that will aid your development within this advanced level of dance and strengthen your ability to combine disciplines (acting and dance) in your journey towards becoming a 'triple threat' performer.
