Module Indicative Content
In this module, you will be introduced to the major practitioners who have influenced the development of Musical Theatre from its initial appearance as a form, to the genre in its contemporary setting.
You will gain an insight as to how and why Musical Theatre continuously evolves and provide extensive research into the individuals who have sought to reimagine the genre be it through music, lyrics, book, choreography or direction.
You will demonstrate your findings in the form of a seminar presentation which singles out two major Musical Theatre practitioners and justifies via a clear and concise argument, how they have furthered both the genre and the Musical Theatre actor.
The written assignment is a case study of two practitioners, enabling you to evaluate and back up the knowledge provided in your seminar. It will highlight why you have chosen your specific practitioners, as well as who they are in terms of their importance and influence upon both the genre and the Musical Theatre actor.
