Module Indicative Content
In this module, you will apply your knowledge from two of your Level 4 modules; 'Acting Studies' and 'Vocal Studies' by way of performing two contrasting songs from the Musical Theatre canon. Your selected material will be in keeping with your vocal range and relevant to you in terms of gender.
Alongside this, you will apply an autonomous approach to warming up the voice, in keeping with all health and safety requirements, identifying the various muscles of the larynx you would use to produce a quality vocal sound.
In your performance, you will seek to seamlessly portray the character within the song, effortlessly demonstrating prior research of the chosen piece within the context of the show it originates from and applying correct vocal techniques to showcase your voice to your best ability.
Weekly workshops will allow you to receive feedback from peers and lecturers that will aid your development within this advanced level of vocal study and performance, strengthening your ability to combine disciplines (acting and song) in your journey towards becoming a 'triple threat' performer.
