INDICATIVE CONTENT
In this module you will be able to explore and extend your skills in a range of photographic processes and applications: innovative and experimental uses of photographic skills will be encouraged.

You will apply your understanding of photography by producing a portfolio of work that is for an identified purpose, and shows appropriate visual communication. Examples of this might be a portfolio of photographs for an advertising campaign, or online promotion for a business or charity, or a presentation portfolio in a genre you wish to gain employment, such as industrial photography or photojournalism.

Relevant investigations would show how other products have been designed for the same target audience, and an evaluation of their success, including the use of visual imagery. You will be expected to assemble and evaluate contrasting material for a different target audience and purpose in order to compare and contrast approaches and strategies.

You will collect and collate a portfolio of work demonstrating your understanding of the way the media is influenced by social and contextual factors, and how a photographer can influence the interpretation of the media by society. You will consider examples of how the media industry has applied different approaches for different purposes. Typical examples might include how photographs are used in newspapers to convey ideas for particular audiences, and how context, framing, captioning etc. influences interpretation of photographs.
