Module Additional Assessment Details
Class Test (40%) covering learning outcomes 1 and 2

Coursework (60%) covering learning outcomes 3 and 4. This will be individual piece of work looking at the role out of a virtual OS on a device and a 1500 word report evaluating this for a given scenario. Final Assessment.

Module Learning Strategies
There will be 26 lecture hours where a variety of different technologies and concepts will be introduced. These will be supplemented through practical and discussions within 26 hours of tutorial/practical's.

In studying this module, you will learn about various concepts e.g. load balancing, fault tolerance, advantages etc., types of virtualisation i.e. Type 1 or Bare Metal e.g. VMware ESXi and Type 2 or Hosted e.g. VMware Workstation. Upon successful completion of the module, you should have become a skilled user of cloning Virtual Machines (VMs), choosing and setting correct virtual network mode, virtual disk mode, management of ESXi etc.
