50% Exam 2 hour in length, closed book - Learning outcomes 1, 2, 3 and 4.
50% In-course assessment of 3,200 words, written proposals of client server system - Learning outcomes 2, 3 and 4
Module Indicative Content
1. Study the nature of client/server systems
2. Understand the application of LAN/WAN topologies in a client/server environment
3. IP Routing concepts and configuration
4. Client server applications
5. Identify disaster recovery options including clustering and mirror sites
6. Develop client/server solutions
7. Review appropriate intranet and security technologies
8. Review the selection of network models.

Module Learning Strategies
The study requirements for this module will be outlined in a series of lectures. Problems and exercises presented in tutorial sessions will be debated or require researching. You will be asked to collaborate with your peers to accumulate information and debate its relevance to a given problem. Practical demonstrations or exercises will be used to supplement the lectures. The normal balance will be one hour lecture and two hours tutorial per week.

The module can be optionally supplemented with CCNA online material and practical work as part of the progression toward being prepared for the second quarter of the Cisco Certified Network Associate Exam (CCNA).
