A case study exercise which will assess learning outcome 1-4
INDICATIVE CONTENT
Network Security course focusing on overall LAN security processes with particular emphasis on hands on skills in the following areas:-

Reconnaissance - Data gathering
TCP/IP
Network Scanning
Intrusion Detection
Network and Computer Attacks
Wireless Security
VoIP Attacks
Windows Hardening
Windows Vulnerabilities
Penetration Testing

This module is delivered as part of a Foundation degree and incorporates elements of work-based learning.
LEARNING OUTCOMES
18 hours lectures/18 hours labs/tutorials

Blocked one-week lectures/lab sessions to gain practical network security experience.

End of tutorial tests to give formative feedback

SPECIAL ADMISSIONS REQUIREMENTS
To have completed Level 4 module COCS40512 Introduction to Networking with LAN's and WAN's or similar and to be familiar with wireless set-up and configuration.
