An assignment (3000 words) comprising:
Assessment point 1 weighted at 30% Research portfolio 1000 words (learning outcomes 1 and 2)
Assessment point 2 weighted at 70% Creation, demonstration and justification of an Artefact 2000 words (learning outcome 3 and 4)
Module Indicative Content
Cloud computing is an area of increasing importance within the enterprise environment. This module will enable you to research the usage of cloud computing by using Amazon Web Services (AWS) as a base for your practical work. Within this module you will look at the usage case of the different aspects of this technology and understand the impact of decisions which are made. You will develop an artefact using a traditional approach of cloud computing and compare this against a managed service. With this you will look at a range of topics including (but not exhaustive):

¿ Security of data and the systems
¿ Elastic Computing
¿ Storage options

Module Learning Strategies
The module is essentially a practical one delivered via electronically distributed learning material.
Online material will be used to deliver the academic and technical content of the module. The tutorials will help you put the practical side of design, construction, testing and documentation into a computer science context and enable you to work on the assignment from week 1.
