Module Indicative Content
Before the detailed project work commences, you are required to produce a project propsal which will include project title, background information and plan of work for consideration prior to a formal project specification being developed with and approved by your supervisor.
Your project plan should be monitored at milestones during your project execution. You are expected to attend and prepare for regular weekly supervisor meetings and keep detailed logs. Any monitoring and adjustments to your plan should be clearly stated in your documentation.
An inter-semester oral presentation will provide you with formative feedback. You will also be expected to do a final oral presentation plus give a demonstration of the functionality of your artefact.
You will be expected to produce a poster outlining the key aspects of your project.
Module Learning Strategies
Independent learning through research. Guidance and feedback from the project supervisor will assist in this independent learning.
This module normally runs across both study periods.
Module Resources
Specialist software dependent upon project domain and faculty availability. Relevant research journals and library resources (e-books, ACM, IEEE, Emerald, etc.)
Module Special Admissions Requirements
Student must be registered on an award as part of the Applied IT Scheme.

100% coursework containing components in project management, presentations, poster presentation
Project management - (log books, project plan and execution) - Learning outcome 1 (30% weighting)
Oral presentation (approx 20 minutes) - Learning outcomes 2 and 3 (45% weighting)
A3 Poster presentation - Learning Outcome 2 (25% weighting)
