Module Special Admissions Requirements
Only available for study as part of the Network Optimisation award. Is is recommended that the learner has CCNA or equivalent. Only available for study as a part-time evening module at full market value cost.

The have completed (CE00862-6 and CE00861-5) and/or study of modules containing CCNP content or equivalent or have a valid CCNP qualification.
Module Learning Strategies
The module is:-
- Self-managed learning using on-line material
- The module will be delivered over 15 weeks, 2 x 3 hour evenings, each evening typically comprising one 1 hour lecture per session to supplement on-line material and 2 hours practical experimentation
- On-line multiple choice tests, relating to each of the modules
- 30 hours lectures and 60 hours labs/tutorial

Module Indicative Content
This module introduces students to commercial secure converged access solutions, WAN connection types and Quality of Service issues. It covers:-
- Broadband Access Technologies: xDSL, Cable modems, DOCSIS
- Frame Relay and Queuing
- Access - Control: Security solutions, Understanding and configuring AAA Workgroup discovery
- Diagnosing and correcting campus TCP/IP and switching problems
- Diagnosing and correcting frame relay and ISDN BRI problems
