Module Indicative Content
Implementing Secure Converged WANs is the second of four modules leading to the Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) designation Implementing Secure Converged WANs introduces students to the implementation of routers in WAN applications. The module focuses on the selection and implementation of the appropriate services required to build intranet remote access links. Students will develop skills with the specific WAN technologies of analogue dialup, ISDN BRI and PRI, Frame Relay, DSL broadband, and VPN. This hands-on, lab-oriented module stresses the design, implementation, operation, and level 1 troubleshooting of common WAN connectivity options. Implementing secure converged WANs is an integral step towards achieving the CCNP designation. Upon completion of this course, students will have performed tasks related to:

- Remote network connectivity requirements
- teleworker connectivity
- IPSec
- VPNs
- Frame mode MPLS implementation
- Cisco device hardening
- Cisco IOS threat defence features.
Module Special Admissions Requirements
Only available for study as a part of the Network Optimisation award. It is recommended that the learner has CCNA or equivalent. Only available for study as a part-time evening module at full market value cost.
