Module Learning Strategies
The module makes use of pebblepad and blackboard as the VLE. Each student will be required to post his activities/contribution on blackboard in the form of discussion sessions. Each post should contain notes.
The material will be presented through a combination of lectures & workshops. Directed studies are also required where research is a critical element within the module.
Teaching is in the form of 4 hour block in week 1, week 6 and week 12
Module Indicative Content
The module covers aspects required by an IT expert to provide expert witness testimony in a court of law. It will also address the following:
ACPO guidelines and their role when gathering digital evidence
Data Protection Act
Criminal justice system
Virtual exhibits
Module Additional Assessment Details
An assignment length 3000 words weighted at 100%. (learning outcomes 1,2,3)
The module will make use of a summative assessment, which is in the form of a report. The students are required to produce an expert report detailing the collection preservation and analysis of a digital exhibit.
