Module Additional Assessment Details
To achieve a non-compensated pass a student must have,
1. Completed, normally, a minimum of 24 weeks of relevant work experience and a maximum of 52 weeks.
2. Achieved at least 50% in the placement report,
3. Achieved an aggregate mark of 50% or more.
A failure in a component may be compensated in conformity with the compensation regulations of the award to which the module contributes.
Where the aggregate mark achieved by a student is >=50%, but pass criteria 1. above is not fulfilled, then the grade point recorded will be a 3.
Work experience - records the number of weeks completed and is 0% weighted for the purposes of grade point calculation.
Work experience - Employer report - mark given by student's line manager for placement - (1, 2, 3, 5, 6)
Visit report - mark given by tutor who visits student - (1-6)
Report - mark given for report on placement written by student - (1-4, 6)
Module Indicative Content
To provide practical experience of working within and for an organisation.
To experience at first hand the practical application of some of the computing theory and methods in study period one.
To develop appropriate behaviour attitudes within the work environment.
To provide practical experience in the legal, social and ethical issues of working within an organisation.
To apply and further develop communication and decision making skills.
