A PORTFOLIO weighted at 100%. (Learning Outcomes 1, 2, 3).
This will be a portfolio consisting of a series of lab exercises (40%) Learning outcome 1 & 2, and a practical expression of the students understanding in a practical lab based assessment (60%) Learning outcome 3
Module Indicative Content
This module covers the concepts of server side operating systems for example Windows and Unix. Looking in depth at the client-server paradigm, modes of operation, structure, account and group creation will be covered. The module will also look at various scripting languages that are commonly used in the commercial arena. Data centre server architecture and security of servers is also investigated.
