Web Descriptor
This module provides you with the skills to be work-ready, not only the practical skills but also the best security practices used by industry. You will be able to analyse a current network provision, analyse the output and propose/implement an effective solution. This module embeds CCNA Security which is a revision to the security syllabus covered by CISCO and maps directly to IINS (210-260) and is a must for anyone wishing to enter the security market. In order to take the external qualification, you must hold a valid CCNA. The module also embeds the knowledge required for the CCNP Secure Access Solutions Qualification (300-208) which is part of the CCNP Security award and is highly desirable in the market place.
Module Learning Strategies
The module will consist of 13 hours lectures, and 26 hours labs/tutorials
There will be Self-directed learning via on-line material
The weekly one-hour lecture will supplement and direct to aspects of the on-line material
There will be On-line multiple-choice tests to give formative feedback
The Lab session each week will be used to provide practical networking experience and reinforce theory of the lectures
