This module will support the development and assessment of the following Knowledge, Skills and Bevaviours from the DTSS Apprenticeship Standard:
Knowledge
CTK2 - The principles of business transformation and how organisations integrate different management functions in the context of technological change;
CTK3 - The role of leadership in contemporary technology based organisations;
CTK7 - The personal leadership qualities that are required to establish and maintain an organisations technical reputation.
CTK8 - The role of leaders as change agents and identify contributors to successful implementation;
CTK10 - The role of learning and talent management in successful business operations

CTS3 - Deliver workplace transformations through planning and implementing technology based business change programmes including setting objectives, priorities and responsibilities with others in an area of technology specialism;
CTS5 - Develop and deliver management level presentations which resonate with senior stakeholders, both business and technical;
CTS8 – Be competent at negotiating and closing techniques in a range of interactions and engagements, both with senior internal and external stakeholders;
CTS9 - Evaluate the significance of human factors to leadership in the effective implementation and management of technology enabled business processes;

Assessment 1 - Transformation Plan

You will develop a business case for Digital Transformation Plan for a sector/organisation. The business case will cover:
Analysis of an scenario and consideration of digital and technology transformation opportunities
Proposed Digital Transformation
Implementation Plan – defining how to implement the digital transformation within a given organisational structure
Assessment 2 - Presentation of a Transformation Plan

You will develop and present the transformation plan to engage the stakeholders and affected parties

Learning Strategies
The module will be delivered through a Blended learning Approach, with a Module Launch, Guided Learning, Independent Learning and Individual Reviews:
Module Launch – 9 hours
There will be a module launch with 9 hours face to face contact which will provide details of the modules purpose,content and approach
Guided Learning – 16 hours
There are a number of approached that may be used:
Weekly delivery - whilst there will be materials online there will be a series of webinars which will be content driven, these will either be 1 hour weekly or 2 hours on alternate weeks
Block delivery – a series of extended face to face sessions eg 4 x 4 hours
Independent Learning – 173 hours
You will be required to complete activities in support of developing your learning and your assessment solutions, as an apprentice some othese hours are drawn from the experience and the development of knowledge and skills in the workplace
Individual Reviews – 2 hours
You will have 2 hours of tutorials sessions with your module tutor during the course of the module. In the main these will be individual but may be small group sessions during which your module tutor will be able to answer any queries that you have regarding module work.

All texts and electronic resources will be updated and refreshed on an annual basis and available for students via the online Study Links resource platform. All reference materials will be collated and curated and aligned to Equality, Diversity & Inclusion indicators.

This module will consider the building blocks of digital transformation alongside models and approaches to management and leadership of the people required to ensure that digital and technology transformation is possible.
