Module Additional Assessment Details
Assignment (80%) including a report (2000 - 2500 words) weighted at 50% and a 10 minute presentation weighted at 30% assessing Learning Outcomes 1, 2, 3 and 4.
A class test (45 minutes) (20%) assessing outcomes 3 and 4.

Professional development - Introduction to BCS, legal, moral and ethical issues
The traditional software development cycle
Overview of a structured methodology e.g. SSADM
Introduction to structured method techniques e.g. ERMs, DFDs, Normalisation
Module Learning Strategies
A variety of learning strategies will be employed to include:-
Lectures, tutorials, workshop and practicals - 4.5 hours per week will be divided into:
1.5 hours lecture
1.5 hours practical session
1.5 hours tutorial/surgery/workshop
Independent learning time will be based around reading, typically course text books, magazines, web sites etc, assignment work and practising techniques
