A portfolio worth 100% with three separate pieces of assessed work.
- A report (c. 1000 words) done individually - Learning Outcomes 1 and 2.
- A piece of group work (groups of 4) involving a case study (c. 4000 words) - Learning Outcomes 2, 3 and 4
- A presentation (c. 10 slides) and report (c. 500 words) done individually - Learning Outcomes 1, 2 and 3.

The impact of the web on society e.g. online shopping, communication, education
Human aspects of Computing e.g. working patterns, ergonomics, Human Computer Interaction
Professional, moral, ethical and legal issues associated with IT and Computing in Society
Use of IT and Computing for media production and the effect on industry (such as the music and film industries).

Module Learning Strategies
The delivery pattern for this module is flexible with each centre choosing a method suitable for the students involved. This module is intended to facilitate the development of transferable skills as well as providing students with useful guidance with respect to the use and effect of Computing and IT in Society. Wherever it is studied, it is anticipated that independent study will play a major role and that some part of the module will be used to assist students in the development of skills which will help with this.
For Stafford Campus:
18 hours of tutorials will take place. There will be two per week for the first 8 weeks and one per week for the following 2 weeks. The last two weeks will be assessment weeks. The room will be available to students twice each week regardless of whether a tutor is present or not.
