Coursework weighted at 50% Learning Outcome 1. The coursework will involve use of a case study featuring a typical business problem and the design and implementation of a solution using typical business software. A demonstration will normally be part of the assessment.

- Functional areas of business: marketing, sales, production etc.
- Financial aspects: introduction to accounting and bookkeeping terms and requirements,
- Legal and professional issues relating to IT in business:
- Criminal and civil law, health & safety
- Legal and contractual obligations
- IT-specific legislation: DPA, CDPA, Comp. Misuse, Disp. Screen Equip. regs. Etc.
- Docs: invoice, PO, statement etc
- Processes: Sales order Proc, stock control, bookings etc.
