Module Learning Strategies
The majority of the information to complete this module will be available on the web. It will consist of guidelines, exercises and examples for you to work through at your own pace within the schedule constraints. A lecturer will be available at practical sessions to assist you if you encounter problems (12 hours). There will be surgery/lectures for the other 12 hours.

Within this module you will be introduced to and/or be able to develop your:

- Intellectual skills
- Problem solving
- Information Technology
- Personal skills for Lifelong Learning
Module Learning Outcome
1. Plan and design a suitable presentation for a given scenario and then use a presentation graphics package to produce an effective electronic presentation which uses fonts/graphics/colour etc as appropriate
2. Justify design choices based upon fundamental principles
3. Apply basic design rules to plan, design and produce an effective desktop published document which communicates relevant information for a specific scenario

This module will also give you opportunity to demonstrate the following skills:

(a) Undertake research appropriate to level and subject area
(b) Formulate a practical solution to the problem, making effective use of time and resources available
Module Indicative Content
The module aims to give you guidelines for the production of effective and appropriate electronic presentations and desktop published documents. It will cover techniques which focus on words and visuals to improve communication and persuasion specific to individual requirements. You will use computer based skills to design material for use in various information presentation systems.
