Module Details
Module Indicative Content
This module will address:
Media Elements (Capture, Editing, Conversion and Compression)
- Sound
- Video
- Bitmap Graphics
- Animation
Introduction to media creation and editing tools such as Flash, Premiere, Sound Booth, Photoshop, Encore DVD.
Compression of media / codecs
Hardware for media capture such as Cameras, Camcorders
Combination of media elements to create a simple multimedia DVD experience.
Module Additional Assessment Details
The Assignment will assess Learning Outcomes 1 - 3, and includes:
- An individual report of 1500 words (25%) (learning outcome 1,3)
- A multimedia portfolio. (75%) The portfolio will include several practical elements that contribute to a multimedia DVD experience. (Learning outcomes 2,3)
Module Learning Strategies
The module is taught as a two hour lab session (1:20)2 / one hour surgery (1:N). This will support the underlying knowledge and skills required to complete the module, and will be facilitated with booklets, course texts, and the internet.
