Module Learning Strategies
Lectures will be given but the main emphasis will be on tutorials/practicals to practice skills. Normally 1 hr lecture, 2 hr tutorial/practical per week with groups of 20 students. Guest lectures will be incorporated to introduce students to the Study Skills Centre. Pebblepad will be used to record PDP activities and Blackboard will be used to deliver support material and to facilitate in-class activities.
Module Additional Assessment Details

A series of debates held in class which form the basis of an individual research report of approximately 1,000 words - 50%. Learning outcome 1.

A reflective portfolio report of approximately 1500 words which will include personal goals, reflection and strategies for success - 50%. Learning outcome 2.
Module Indicative Content
Note taking, revision and exam technique. Time management and organisation. Teamwork skills. Research and reading skills, finding appropriate sources, referencing using a bibliographical database. Presentation, report writing, debating skills. Ethics.
