Module Additional Assessment Details
An ASSIGNMENT weighted at 100%, developing and documenting an open source database application, 3,000 words, assessing Learning Outcomes 1, 2 and 3.
Module Indicative Content
This module will address:
Evaluating, creating and accessing Open source database and associated programming.
Using open source programming including the use of OO-principles
Connection via scripting to external data sources
SQLite, MYSQL, etc
PHP/ Javascript / XML / AJAX
Exposure to simple programming constructs selection interaction and sequence.
Module Learning Strategies
48 hours of lectures and 48 hours of practical sessions. In the practical session you will work through exercises to get hands-on experience of the principles taught in the lectures.
